Storytime Theater is a multisensory immersion into the life of a book which helps students become more interested, involved and excited about reading. The non-reader, new reader, insecure, average and advanced reader always finds explorative drama through literature empowering and challenging. Storytime Theater improves concentration, focus, sensory awareness, listening, linguistics, problem solving, intra/interpersonal relationships as well as boosting self-esteem. Storytime Theatre is offered to pre-K through elementary students in weekly forty-five to sixty minute standards-based workshops or residencies. Professional development workshops are also available. At present, Storytime Theater has a repertoire of over 50 stories.Expressive Elocution gives students the tools to be heard, to be understood and to be confident. Expressive Elocution provides a safe, supportive environment for students to learn how to vocally explore and express themselves in a variety of situations. Through age appropriate games and exercises for both listening skills and vocal production, students learn how to control and maximize specific aspects of their speech such as volume, speed, pitch and resonance. They will learn how to explore and pronounce sounds. Physical awareness, listening skills, maintaining focus, engaging an audience and stage fright are also explored. Expressive Elocution is offered to grades 3-12 in weekly forty-five to sixty minute standards-based classroom workshops or residencies. Professional development workshops are also available. Elise May, creator of both of these Arts-in-Education programs, has been teaching speech/theater classes to all ages in the U.S., Canada and England and Bermuda for over twenty five years.
