StoryZoo is a feel-good animation series, with an educative foundation. StoryZoo is a magical book which opens up every episode, and makes the joyful animation figures Toby the Monkey, Pepper the Parrot, and Bax the Bear magically appear. The very wise and calm Bax reads to the viewers, making Toby and Pepper go on a new adventure each time. The curious and naughty Toby, and the smart and stubborn Pepper, dive into a new world during every adventure, visiting places like a birthday party, a toy store, and a farm. And as long as they are going there, they might as well bring Bax a nice new teddy bear or a farm-fresh egg. But that doesn't always seem to be quite that easy…Since Pepper only speaks English, Toby, as well as the children at home, learn the English translation of many words and short sentences. Nearly everything Toby calls out, Pepper repeats in English. Whereas Toby views the world as one big playground, Pepper always wants to be the boss. And that causes some friction between the two every once in a while. Still, the two young animals soon find out that discovering the world together is way more fun. StoryZoo was developed by children's books authors and animators, who have previously collaborated on Sesame Street, Het Zandkasteel (The Sand Castle) and Pim & Pom. The colorful and joyful images and stories are combined with catchy music. Thirteen episodes were made for RTL Telekids, each with a duration time of about 10 minutes.
