The Strathmore Enterprise Development Centre (SEDC) is an initiative of Strathmore University. The Centre, to be located at the University campus is a private sector driven initiative set up to address the needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and provide solutions to the various practical, real-life problems they typically encounter through quality training, research and value added services.SEDC seeks to meet the needs of SMEs in the following key areas: Capacity building in business management: Through the 16 weeks (once per week) Enterprise development course, the SMEs will be equipped with the skills necessary to operate their ventures optimally and profitably. Value-added Services: These include business counseling, networking meetings, business diagnostics, mentoring, exhibitions, Local and international Business trips and retreats, consulting and linkages to other professional service providers. Knowledge Hub: Events forums and seminarsWe continuously organize events such as Entrepreneurs' breakfasts, dinners and seminars in different towns in the country, International Trips, retreats, SME Annual Conference, Family Business day and networking forums for Small and medium Enterprises.Consultancy SEDC Enterprise Development Program (EDP) SEDC has designed an Enterprise Development Course that takes one day per week for sixteen weeks. . Stage one takes eight weeks while stage two takes eight weeks as well. The course is hands-on participant centered program. Through the use of locally developed business case studies, participants are engaged in discussions enabling them to develop problem solving and good decision making skills. The proram also entails business visits where we visit your business together with your classmates. In the business visit activities we help you solve some of the problems your business is facing. There are three intakes in a year; January, May and September
