Architecture & Planning - Cleveland, Ohio, United States
Since 2001, Robert "Skip" Streeter has been the driving force behind the Streets of Manhattan, a glassworks studio dedicated to creating extraordinarily unique works of fused glass. Through an integration of artistry and technical skill, Skip's designs find their full expression in pieces that range in sizes as tiny as lapel pins and paper weights to large complex donor walls - structures that serve as monuments to philanthropy and fundraising. SOM creations all share the characteristic hallmarks of an explosion of vibrant colors, a fluidity of form, and a craftsman's sensibility. In 2017, Skip acquired his former business partner's stake in SOM thereby becoming the sole owner. He closed the year with record sales and 7 major donor wall installations, the most prominent of which was the UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital Donor Wall. The evolution of SOM has always sparked opportunities for creative growth as we seek to increase the number of donor wall installations in public spaces. In 2018 and beyond, Skip seeks to double the number of new installations over previous years.
