STRIDE provides over 8,000 free or low cost adaptive sport and recreation lessons each year to individuals with disabilities, focusing on youth and Wounded Warriors. STRIDE utilizes over 300 skilled volunteer sport instructors; serves over 1,500 families; and offers programs in more than 17 different sports at 25+ regional locations in the Northeastern US. With a focus on individual lifetime sports, our programs use specialized equipment or teaching aids for successful participation to "level the playing field" for all. Our most recent endeavor has been a partnership with Warfighter Sports providing sports opportunities to Wounded Warriors to help restore shattered lives of recently injured soldiers and Marines returning home from battle.STRIDE is completely funded by donations, grants and special gifts, and is designated a not-for-profit corporation under section 402 of the NYS not-for-profit law. It is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 charitable organization and registered with New York State Office of Charities.
