Mathew says " I was nursing a hang-over and bumped into a friend of mine, director Steve Morrison, who told me he had this story he wanted to tell. That was in 2000. From memory we started work-shopping a few scenes he had written. We filmed the workshops on location and very early on we arrived at a voice -- a way we wanted the character to sound.Right from the get go. There was a urgency to tell this story. I was playing the character of Jake Stringer during the workshops and there were four of us -- Josephine Davison, Marek Sumich, Paul Glover. From memory when we started the workshops, Steve had written a draft with a few scenes that were pretty much together. Really it was a question of working those scenes on location, improving them, finding the voice. From that point there were a couple of years where the script went through stages
