We believe the daily deal model is best used on niches. Our past experience operating in the college student market allows us to leverage our knowledge of what students want to help small local businesses get what they need: viral word of mouth and social media marketing with the opportunity to obtain high-level lifetime customers. We choose the businesses that students past and present enjoy the most, typically between 85-120 per year, to participate in multi-day advertising campaigns that incentivize students to talk and share about the business rather than just see a logo or small discount. The advantages we see in our site as opposed to competitors are: -Curated e-mail lists containing students with active .edu accounts.-Multi-day campaigns allowing students to share your business with friends in time for them to buy. -Targeting a demographic with a high lifetime value and powerful social media influence. We will be launching in September 2012 on all Philadelphia campuses covering nearly 300,000 current college students.
