Nonprofit Organization Management - Berea, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
Student Dynamics, is an independent non-profit organization first established in 2005 to provide historically disadvantaged communities with information regarding access to tertiary education, funding and accommodation options available. The organisation was started by Students at the University of Kwa Zulu Natal, after noting that majority of students from disadvantaged areas from the Kwa Zulu Natal province were not able to gain entry into institutions of higher learning as a result of not being aware of entry requirements and not being exposed to potential funders. Student Dynamics assumed the responsibility, as a member of the Rainbow Nation to deliver such information. In addition, motivate and inspire these learners and instill in them positive attitude and critical ways of thinking about themselves, their current situations and shaping their future.Responding to the various changes and challenges facing the education sector in South Africa, Student Dynamics has in the past twelve years grown significantly in size, scope, and breadth, including the establishment of various wings aimed at responding to some of the issues affecting previously disadvantaged communities; Access to tertiary education, Entrepreneurship, Sports and Substance Abuse, HIV and AIDS awareness as well as Disability and Welfare. The inclusion of these divisions has helped to grow Student Dynamic's social impact and expand into various institutions of higher learning and thus attracting various partnerships with reputable organisations. Student Dynamics now boasts a membership of over a 400 volunteers in various institutions of higher learning, including the University of Kwa Zulu Natal, Mangosuthu University of Technology, Durban University of Technology as well as the University of Zululand.
