Started by colleague by two passionate entrpreneurs, Anabel Calvo and Benjamyn Bailey, Studio British was born out of a passion for well-made fashion, but a frustration at the inability to easily identify the provenance of our clothing.Our mission is to take British manufacturing mainstream. High street fashion is often poor quality, manufactured by low-paid workers who are often the victims of indentured or slave labour.As a society, we have become more alert to the food that we put in our bodies over the last few years. Our hope is that we will start to pay more attention to what we put on our bodies.Studio British aims to become the antidote to fast-fashion, bucking a trend where thousands of tonnes of clothing are thrown into landfill each year, most barely worn. We will only achieve this by changing our attitudes en masse, giving manufacturers the platform to benefit from economies of scale currently enjoyed by a handful of businesses.
