The C&C studio was founded in Turin by Paolo Albertelli and Mariagrazia Abbaldo. Both graduates in architecture at the Politecnico of Turin, are trained in architectural studies, restoration and sculpture. They began to collaborate in 1997: immediately the compositional research is carried out both in the field of architecture and sculpture.The architectural works receive two important awards: the "Architecture revealed" award in 2002 for the expansion in steel and glass of their residence in Turin; the prize as the runner-up of the competition for Villa della Regina in Turin in 2010.These are works characterized by an unusual use of materials and original formal compositions; with the attempt to create sculptural architectures that mitigate the feeling of having to live inside often standardized containers.The special attention to the relationship between architecture and water has led to the creation of several public and private fountains from which the original name from the email info@fontanedoc.it.In 2009 the "PROFILI" project was born, sculptures dedicated to the theme of the landscape and to the investigation of the relationship between earth and sky, leading to collaboration with internationally renowned photographers. The development of the profile project, still underway, is characterized by a constant research on the expressiveness of the sign understood as the relationship between design and use of materials through laser cutting techniques, fusion with different metals and the study of oxidation patinas . Thanks to the collaboration with artisans of excellence in the Turin hinterland, the sculpture works have achieved international recognition and have been hosted by exhibitions and museums in Italy, France and Switzerland.
