Delve is the creative and personal process of Lisa Smith. To delve is to dig, turn over, turn up, loosen, cut into, flip, consider, deliberate, reach, overturn, tump over (turn from an upright or normal position); it is to allow the creative juices to flow, to travail, make effort, get into elbow grease, to sweat, labor, to use physical and mental energy, grind, drudge, grasp, comprehend, apprehend, excavate, prod, poke, hollow, jab, nick, ding, dent, remove, harvest, recover, parturient. This is my process and I truly love what I do.My love for ceramics began in high school, where I discovered that "time flies when having fun." Throughout my 20s, I tried to focus on other studies , but in the depths of myself, I always knew ceramics was my passion. In 2007, I attained my bachelor's degree in Fine Art, with an emphasis in ceramics, at the University of Colorado. During my senior year, I completed a ceramic internship, where I learned the basics of business and design. This was the beginning of Studio Delve. In the past couple of years, I have been focusing on porcelain jewelry, including large and small necklace pendants, and earrings. Most recently, I have been concentrating on other porcelain work such as, light pendants, other household furnishings and sculptures.
