We founded Studio Urbanof in 2009 as an international research based design firm committed to the innovative design of public spaces. We believe in creating original, sustainable, and groundbreaking solutions for cities, campuses, and gardens. We work towards the evolution of the field, towards a landscape architecture that is continuously evolving and in progress, one that requires quick adaptation and reaction. We embrace new tools and technologies for sustainable design, new materials and soft multidisciplinary ecological systems and engage these with design and place. Our expertise lies at the junction between design and green infrastructure and the studios' work is primarily focused on complex urban planning and design projects, large Parks, educational facilities, and Civic Campuses and buildings.To further our understanding of cities and landscapes and develop new ways to see, design and build them, we commit time and resources towards research, development and innovation. Our commitment to research brings added value and important innovation to our commissioned projects and it allows us to identify and leverage opportunities that are acknowledged throughout the design process. We design for people and within the context of place, and our comprehensive methodology results in experientially rich places and optimal spatial formation that ensure that each project has its own unique identity. We understand the need to balance ideals of environmental stewardship and technical innovation and with the realities of constructability, and budget.In the spirit of making change through meaningful collaboration, Leor Lovinger, the firms CEO holds an academic position at the Technicon Institute of Technology, volunteers on IFLA-Europe's professional committees with the EU, and participates in lectures, conferences, competitions, and exhibitions around the world.
