Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that's a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – we're there when it matters. For over 65 years our doctors, nurses and carers have given people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can. We take the time to understand what's important to people and give them choice and control over their care. For some this may mean specialist care in one of our centres, whilst others might need support in their own home.In Scotland, Sue Ryder's Aberdeen-based neurological care centre, Dee View Court, provides long-term residential care to people living with complex and degenerative conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, and Motor Neurone Disease, as well as acquired injuries such as through stroke or a road traffic accident. Home to 24 people aged 18-65, Dee View Court provides a safe environment where residents receive the specialist medical care they need, whilst helping them live as full and independent a life as possible. However as Scotland's only purpose built, specialist neurological care centre of its kind, and with over one million people living in Scotland with a neurological condition, demand for a place is high, and our waiting list continues to grow to and grow. To meet the increasing demands, Sue Ryder has embarked on a two year capital appeal to raise £3.9m to extend the current facilities and provide a home for an additional 20 people. It's a big project, and we need your help to do this. You can be part of this journey and help Sue Ryder create a lasting legacy for our current and future residents - a lasting and visual reminder of the difference you have made to people living with neurological conditions from across Scotland.
