Co-Founder of a new-to-the-world lost & found service for hotels & travellers
We are a start-up who: 1) Enables hotels to innovate their process for lost and found property and manage it more efficiently. 2) Helps travellers to be reunited easier and more comfortable with their possessions that were lost and found during a hotel stay. A flight magazine claimed figures of the value of lost property in one major hotel chain in only one year in the UK, along with the value of the most expensive non re-claimed items. These figures astonished us. What unhappy number of travellers around the globe must long for their lost property each day? A vast variety - but all longing for their items with their individual history attached. How could this problem be tackled? For the last few years we never let go of this idea and the possible solutions. We created a demo version and re-designed it recently to meet the current technical standards. Our belief that we want to innovate the hotels' and travellers' approach to lost and found property has helped us to constantly re-focus. We wanted a "one cloud" solution for hotels and travellers, instead of travellers having to to go to each hotel website separately. Hotels should be able to register items and upload photos effortlessly, as well as to manage registered items and claim requests efficiently. Optimal communication between hotels and travellers via the service was a major focus. Integrity is a must and the hotel makes all final decisions about a lost item and its claimer.
