Running and building a business is very similar to climbing a mountain. Step one is to decide which mountain and then which route. Then comes the preparation, physical and mental, getting the right equipment, hiring the right guide, and only then can you begin the climb. When the climb gets harder your guide will encourage you to keep going, when the weather changes your guide will provide advice on how to weather the storm, when you stumble your guide will lend a helping hand and get you going again. And when you get to the top your guide will step back so you can enjoy the view.Having a coaching system is great, but one size does not fit all (because not all mountains are the same). My approach to coaching is practical and tailored to the specific needs of every client. It is pointless to work on building a vision and mission statement if your business has cash-flow issues. I start with fixing the things that hurt most, and once that has been resolved I go back to the basics - the foundations.Why start with the basics in an established business? You need to ensure that the foundations are strong before you start building - if not, the whole building will collapse once you hit critical mass. A solid foundation will allow you to build a much bigger and better business than a weak foundation.My coaching covers all aspects of your business, starting with a business plan (so you are clear about your destination) and quarterly goals (the next steps to take on the journey). Then cover the basics of Time, Money and Supply Chain before moving on to helping you establish your niche in the market. Then comes systematization and ensuring you have the right people in the right roles followed by showing you how to get all the elements of your business to work seamlessly so you don't have to.I don't teach theory, just tried and tested methodologies and strategies that have been tried and tested over 35 years in business management.
