Design, Landscape, Ecology, SustainibilitySUNLIGHT is a landscape and sustainibility studio based in Madrid, founded by Cristina del Pozo in 2007.Our philosophy is to contribute to the improvement of individual and social well-being and quality of life in developed and developing countries by promoting landscape and ecology as a basis for integrated urban development and spatial planning . We design for social cohesion, sustainibility, economic competitiveness and good governance.Research We combine proffesional practice with academic and research work. Using research to come up with emerging methodologies and new proposals is essential in order to approach the complexity of the projects, the environmental hazards we face, and the new demands of society.Inspiration We consider the landscape and the environmental quality of a place as a basic need for society. We base our work and research in understanding people´s sense of place and preserving, creating, recovering and interpreting the landscape character and its structures. We try to understand the characteristics of places and the ways in which these are experienced and valued by people, their perceptions and the identity of the communities. All these helps us create and come out with innovative proposals rooted in ecology and the use of the latest technologies.
