Madison, Wisconsin original rock band Sunspot creates and performs epic power-pop anthems with punk and electronic elements.The band has recorded eight full length albums and a live concert DVD, as well as over 160 biweekly video podcasts (Sunspot Road Mania), and have shared the stage with Death Cab for Cutie, The Flaming Lips, Sponge, SevenMaryThree, Hot Hot Heat, Crash Test Dummies, Sick Puppies, Ash, and Andrew W K. In 2010, Sunspot released the DVD version of their multimedia spectacle, Major Arcana. In early 2011, Sunspot licensed their song, "Go, Pack!" to FOX Sports for their Super Bowl coverage, with some residual coverage for the song on NPR as well as numerous Wisconsin radio stations.With themes of aliens, ghosts, ancient prophecies, and science fiction, Sunspot has fused their passions for the unusual with metaphors for our everyday lives and used them to fuel their latest release (September 2015): Weirdest Hits. They meld hard rock, pop, electronic, and punk influences with themes that take inspiration from Arthur C. Clarke to Aleister Crowley. In addition to regularly performing, writing, and recording music, the band produces a weekly paranormal podcast called See You On The Other Side which features a new song each week related to that episode's discussion topic.
