Sunstar Entertainment is a Sydney based company, specialising in the fields of Sport and Entertainment, combining our diverse strengths of Film, TV and Talent under one entity. Sunstar acquired the rights to LION, based on Saroo Brierley and his inspiring search for his family using Google Earth. Saroo reunited with his family in India after 25 years of separation. It is a story that has touched the heart of millions of people all around the world. His story has had comparisons with the hugely acclaimed "Slumdog Millionaire". Sunstar partnered with Academy Award winning production company See-Saw Films to produce Saroo's story. See-Saw producers Emile Sherman and Iain Canning received an Oscar for The Kings Speech (2010). The Weinstein Company (TWC) purchased the international distribution rights to LION, at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. LION received 6 Oscar Nominations including Best Picture and was the 5th highest grossing Australian film ever at the domestic box office. Our Talent division boasts highly impressive individuals including Jessica Watson OAM, Ellyse Perry, Mitchell Starc, Steve O'Keefe, Jordan Silk, Hazem El Masri, Matt Hall and Tim Bailey.
