Thai restaurant Supatra River House has once again opened its doors at the beginning of 2018 with the promise to deliver an even more distinctive dining experience to its many guests. Full of historical wonders, this beautiful traditional Thai house dates back to 1975 and was the former home of Khunying Supatra Singholaka, founder of the Supatra and Chao Phraya Express Boat companies. Her residence was converted into this magnificent restaurant in 1998.Offering one of the best views of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Supatra River House looks out over the magnificent Grand Palace and Rama 8 Bridge, making it the ideal spot for a romantic dining experience. The restaurant opens for lunch & dinner. With different dining areas, the venue caters to both small and large parties, as well as private events.Accessing the restaurant is convenient with a complimentary shuttle boat service from " Tha Maharaj " to the private pier on a traditional wooden rice barge.In the two decades since it's opening, Supatra River House has won many culinary awards for authentic Thai cuisine, ‘Thailand's Tatler magazine named it one of Thailand's Best Restaurants for its exceptional cuisine in 2001 to 2008', ‘The Miele Guide as one of Asia's finest restaurants in 2009 to 2012' just to name a few. The menu offers time-honoured Thai dishes from Khunying Supatra's era, as well as the family's recipes using traditional, locally- sourced ingredients.The restaurant is still at heart a family home that offers a warm welcome to all its guests.
