Management Consulting - London, England, United Kingdom
VISIONModern Slavery impacts 40.3 million victims globally and 100,000 in the UK alone. Our vision is to eradicate the heinous crime of Modern Slavery from this world. Under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, companies that turnover more than £36million p/a are required to produce an annual compliance statement to show that exploitation does not occur in their business supply chains. Over 17478 registered UK companies are required to produce a statement, with over 90% failing to meet the minimum standards in 2019 and 70% failing to meet minimum standards in 2020. If a business fails to produce a slavery and human trafficking statement for a particular financial year the Secretary of State may seek an injunction through the High Court (or, in Scotland civil proceedings for specific performance of a statutory duty under section 45 of the Court of Session Act 1988) requiring the organisation to comply, with unlimited fines. MISSIONSupply Unchained is a certified social enterprise and a member of Social Enterprise UK. Supply Unchained mission is to prevent the systemic causes of Modern Slavery in Business Supply Chains through Management Consulting for International Development; by delivering training, consulting and compliance services across the private and public sectors. The Uhuru Project is an initiative which will be funded through 10% profits obtained from Supply Unchained through its Management Consulting services. The Uhuru Project will offer pro-bono (free) legal support to victims of Modern Slavery. Our aim is to use this multi-faceted approach to tackle Modern Slavery through systemic prevention and by frontline support to create social impact. In this way, Supply Unchained will tackle the systemic issues of exploitation within business supply chains through training and consulting, and offer frontline victim support through The Uhuru Project.
