He borrowed a power saw and without help constructed a bridge for Bay Forest Products on Kingcome Inlet on the coast of British Columbia. He was paid $1700. Since that first bridge, SureSpan has built thousands of bridges, particularly in support of resource based industries such as forestry and mining.
