Surface to Air is an architectural practice directed by Holly Porter and Heidi Moxon, which offers design quality, unique client interaction skills and excellent project delivery. Surface to Air Architects are known for design excellence in across a number of sectors. With a specialism in the education sector, having worked with private, state, primary and secondary schools as well as public education providers, we are experienced in working with SEN and SEBD school projects and understand the very unique requirements these academic environments have. With the studio's focus centred on consultation and design, we have an in depth knowledge across the board. With a constantly growing team, we are working on a range of education projects - offering both consultancy and design services in the UK from £250k to £200 million.Surface to Air Architects were shortlisted for the BCSE Adviser of the Year Awards 2012 as well as the Design and Excellence in SEN Provision Award 2011. Their latest education building has won both a Civic Trust award and was shortlisted for the RIBA Awards 2011. Surface to Air Architects have been featured in numerous architectural publications and exhibitions and were the cover story for Building Magazine in 2009 and 2006. They were recently invited to exhibit as one of 27 practices representing the best new architectural design talent in the UK. Surface to Air Architects were also nominated for YAYA (Young Architect of the Year Award) 2010. Surface to Air Architects was founded by Holly Porter who trained at Cambridge University and the Royal College of Art and set up practice after several years working on high profile, successful projects for award-winning KPF.
