The Sustain Equity Group is about facilitating lasting and equitable transformation across marginalized communities where domestic violence, gun violence, and trauma are rife. Led by founder, Kayla Hicks, the initiative focuses on data-driven solutions, networking, and leadership campaigns to effect positive change across gun violence prevention in North America. The Sustain Equity Group recognizes the severe impact that many Black women encounter daily, from inequitable pay and limited educational or professional opportunities to higher incidences of abuse within domestic, public, and unjust policing circumstances. Through professional initiatives in which awareness and education are adopted, the Sustain Equity Group continues to work to bring transformation and empowerment into the lives of Black women.
