SILC's primary focus is on developing, testing, and deploying high impact solutions to sustainability challenges. SILC's research areas focus on data or technology-supported approaches to complex problems with an emerging capacity in land planning and sustainable food systems.SILC is an interdisciplinary and solution-oriented center that supports diverse projects and educational programs linked by a common focus on issues in sustainability (i.e. issues in economy, social equity, and environment). Because of the nature of this work, SILC's impact-oriented research includes a breadth of disciplines, such as, engineering, physical and natural sciences, social science, social justice, psychology, humanities, business, law, and computer science.
