The Sustainable Campus Program was formed by student fee referendum in 2004. The committee is represented by two nominated representatives of each of the three educational institution on the Auraria Campus in Denver Colorado. The chair of the committee is an elected student official of the Student Advisory Committee to the Auraria Board (SACAB). The committee manages approximately 400K USD per year in student fee money designated for energy efficiency, water efficiency, renewable energy, education and outreach, green policy recommendations, and recycling efforts on the Auraria campus. Auraria Campus is one of the nations leading campuses for clean energy usage and proactive sustainable development due to the continued student support of the SCP.
