Sustainable Delmarva works to strengthen the ability of Delmarva's communities to do well and build a regional vision for sustainability.Sustainable Delmarva sees the challenges facing the Delmarva Peninsula (unchecked pollution, diminished economic development opportunities, poor land use choices, inadequate public services, and lack of a unifying vision) as an opportunity for the region to shift course and take a different path – a sustainable path. Sustainable Delmarva focuses on local communities as the catalyst for change for the Delmarva Peninsula and works to strengthen the communities' ability to:•Act from a set of common ground core values•Consider the "whole system" when working to preserve and enhance quality of life.To do this, Sustainable Delmarva has developed three programs:Vision-to-Action: Which facilitates innovative large group conversation-based meeting models like Open Space, World Café and Future Search for communities to identify common ground values from which to build a vision for the future.Capacity building: Which provides communities the key resources and expert support communities need to take action on their vision.Regional Networking: Which mobilizes an on-the-ground stakeholder networking program that provides opportunities to learn from one another and build meaningful relationships across political boundaries.
