HISTORY: Neelum Valley District is a remote access & backward area, the socio economic condition of community is very poor. There is poor condition of Education, Health, Road, Communication, Electricity and infrastructure. Literacy rate is low as compared to all districts of State of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Due to remote access and poor infrastructure conditions NGOs hesitate to work here. There are no interventions except some projects of UNDP and IFAD. Government and Politicians have neglected the area. That's why it has been decided to establish an NGO to work for the deserving and disadvantaged Communities. Mr. Khurram Jamal Shahid and his social worker fellows join hands to help & uplift the vulnerable communities. They decided to establish the organization "Sustainable Development Organization (SDO) in 2008.
