We focus on ensuring the sustainability of public lands and of the plant, animal and human communities that depend on them. We consult, strategize and educate on public lands sustainability; climate change (planning and implementing adaptation and mitigation measures); natural resource and ecosystem services conservation; and collaboratively developed large landscape conservation strategies. SOS has also launched the U.S. Biochar Initiative to promote the sustainable production and use of biochar to improve soils, reduce carbon and generate renewable energy.
