Sustainable Surfing Coalition Details
Our mission is to empower the surf community to improve its own sustainability, through Research, Education, and Community. By doing so, we will demonstrate to the world ways to effectively reduce negative environmental impacts, and maximize social benefits.Mission Statement 1. We will work to research, design, and implement solutions which improve the sustainability of the surfing world, while not compromising on performance or aesthetics. Decisions we make for the sake of Sustainability will be made based on scientific analysis, deliberation, and actual measurement where possible. 2. We will work to inform and educate the surfing world about sustainability science, to foster broader and more effective community engagement in the effort to make our world more sustainable. 3. We will work to bring together surfers from all walks of life, to identify and implement sustainable solutions. 4. We will use the platform of surfing, a high-profile activity with widespread appeal worldwide, to demonstrate our accomplishments, and to show that the reality of Sustainability is realizable and necessary.
