The Swagelok Center for Surface Analysis of Materials (SCSAM) at Case Western Reserve University is an open-access center providing state of the art instrumentation for micro-characterization of materials. This includes advanced instrumentation for high-spatial-resolution microscopy imaging, spectrometry (e.g. analysis of composition and electronic structure), and diffractometry (e.g. high-precision assessment of atomistic structure).Located on the campus of Case Western Reserve University, The Center contributes to academic objectives and research goals and has an extensive history of successful collaboration with a broad range of global and domestic industrial clients that includes aerospace and defense, medical research, medical devices, paints and coatings, lubricants, consumer products, and technology.
