The Swindon Food Collective (SFC) is a new community group which has superseded and taken over the operations of the former foodbank. SFC is registered as a company limited by guarantee and we are now applying for charity status in our own right. Each year the generous people of Swindon and the surrounding areas donate over 5000 kilos of food to the Swindon Food Collective and these donations are collected from individuals, stores, churches and businesses, being brought back to our warehouse, where it is sorted and packed into emergency food parcels ready for delivering to the 7 distribution centres which are open 5 days a week for 10 sessions.We will help around 5,000 people over the next year of which at least 40% are children who are facing food poverty (where they don't eat for several days) or food insecurity (worrying about where their next meal will come from) . We need to raise IRO £60,000 per annum to cover the core costs of the warehouse lease & equipment, utilities, vehicle costs, salary (1 employee), insurances (employee, public, trustee indemnity, vehicles), phones, stationary, workwear, professional fees (audit, legal, HR) etc. If you can help us raise funds or you wish to make a donation please email swindonfoodcollective@gmail or ring 07932 108 732.
