Syclus (Sick´less) is a New York City-based social impact startup that combines money/finance, hip-hop culture, and technology in new and entertaining ways to help create the first financially successful generation of under-resourced Black youth. Our flagship product is a School Bank Program (SBP) - a combo student-run bank and web-based investment portfolio simulation. The classroom-based program includes a culturally relevant financial and capital markets curriculum to teach urban high school students how to make smart money decisions and build generational wealth. Syclus' transformative purpose is to accelerate financial inclusion within low-income and un/underbanked neighborhoods, and we trust that educating young people, specifically Black youth, is critical to building and sustaining strong communities for the future. We are confident that it is up to organizations such as ours to support the development and implementation of youth-centric strategies, programs, and initiatives that stem the tide of wealth inequality, close the racial wealth divide, and address the inequities in education.
