We originally started as a local indie label and band management project to fill a gap in local music support in the area. During this first phase of the project, Topeka pop-punk band, Effigy, released their second album 'A Dozen Roses' on the Syde-sho label. Founder, Jason Peters (Dj Sydeburnz) was also involved with Trip Hop Children, a rap/metal style band in Topeka. He was the band's DJ as well as other duties related to booking and mangment. Syde-sho also produced numerous one off local events and four weekly local nights at various venues bringing in acts from the Midwest as well as national touring artists The Hippos, The Show-offs, Goldfinger, Bloodhound Gang, April Wine and The Georgia Satellites.After a couple years, the focus shifted to electronic music and the Midwest dance culture. Syde-sho.com revamped, they started producing their own events, and became a driving force in the Kansas City area. Over the years they teamed up with numerous production companies and grew their roster to 15 regional djs. The team has produced and performed at shows from small, intimate venues to concert sized locations like the Uptown Theater in Kansas City.While Syde-sho is not 100% active, the website remains up and the found continues to play selective events as well as occasional internet radio braodcasts.
