The Sydney Stars is a joint venture between Sydney University Football Club (SUFC) and Balmain Rugby Club. With SUFC's strength, playing flair and impressive history within Sydney's Shute Shield competition, along with Balmain's rapid growth in both senior and junior sectors, the Sydney Stars comprises of all the elements needed to be a highly successful club both on and off the field. Formed in 2014 the Sydney Stars were part of the inaugural Buildcorp National Rugby Championship competing against 8 other teams from around Australia. The Sydney Stars provide players with an additional pathway to professional rugby and higher sporting honours.
