The Tzolkin or Mayan Calendar is currently divided into two main tendencies. These are the traditional Quiche interpretation used by the Mayan shamans throughout Guatemala and some regions of Mexico, and the contemporary version known as the Dreamspell channeled by Mayan scholar Jose Aguelles. These two versions of the calendar are divided and rarely do they reconcile in the perspectives of those who practice them. Alejandra's particular synergy with the Mayan Calendar has developed from insight she received in her dreams as the animal guides of her Mayan signs showed her the power of unification and liberation from boundaries. Thus she understood that the Ancient Quiche Mayan Calendar and the Contemporary vision of it, as expressed in the Dreamspell, are complementary to each other. In this time of change and growth they serve as a tool for our mind/heart to unify the polarities of our current world.
