Sánchez-Mejorada, Velasco y Ribé, founded in 1884 in the silver mining center of Pachuca, Hidalgo, currently with offices in Mexico City and Monterrey, Nuevo León, offers to its Mexican and foreign clients (primarily US and Canadian corporations, with Australian and European companies making up the balance) a general corporate practice, including reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, with specialized areas in anti-trust and natural resources. In addition to its ongoing corporate practice, the firm has participated, as advisor to the Mexican Government, in the drafting of federal legislation and in the privatization of State owned enterprises. Its partners and associates are all bilingual English-Spanish, and some have, in addition to their Mexican law degree, advanced degrees from and studies at Mexican and US universities, and one year work experience at major U.S. law firms.
