Table for Generations was initiated by three university students Try Hutomo, Guswandi Taslim and Melissa in 2017. With the initial idea of raising funds for underprivileged children through a themed dining event, a pop-up was held in October where food was paired with storytelling. The event was successful as it raised $3,000 AUD and hence, it became an annual event. This year, the event will be centred on Indonesian street kids partnering with Sahabat Anak. Our vision is simple: food is the easiest way to get people together. We are partnering with Sahabat anak, placing our sights on championing the basic rights of Indonesian street kids. What we believe is simple: Food is the easiest way to get people together. Through this event, we aim to invoke awareness and compassion towards Indonesian street children. From our table to theirs, from our generation to theirs.
