Tehran Annual Digital Art ExhibitionWith the aim of preparing the ground for multidisciplinary and digital arts as well as creating an interactive, independent platform for the enthusiasts, "Tehran Annual Digital Art Exhibition" (TADAEX) was established in 2011. The high cost of equipment has made it increasingly difficult for Iranian artists to participate and experiment in the field. There has been, therefore, limited capacities for exhibitions and presentations of artworks. In order to develop this capacity, the first edition of TADAEX was held as a digital arts exhibition. In the second run, however, specialized panel discussions and performances were added to the program. It was in the third edition that the works of Iranian artists were selected through an open call for the first time. In the fourth edition, held in three different venues, TADAGRANT (TADAEX funding award) was inaugurated, collaborations with embassies' cultural sections were developed, and the number of participants and the exhibited worked were tangibly increased. For the fifth edition, the works were selected based on a theme: "The Language of the City." In the sixth run, apart from the fact that the exhibited works of Iranian artist were obviously improved, and also there was a focus on the regional requirements and capabilities, TADAEX attempted to encourage dialogues between the audience and the artists in order to widen the professional horizon. During these six years, TADAEX has endeavored to present artworks from international artists and to create the space in which the production and presentation of the works of Iranian artists can be developed and come to fruition. The 7th edition of TADAEX was held from December 1 to 5, 2017 in Tehran. More than 60 Iranian and international artists from Germany, Austria, France, Italy, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Poland, and Qatar, exhibited more than 45 interdisciplinary and/or interactive works in Mohsen Gallery and Nabshi Center.
