Tai Yim Kung Fu School operates to provide unique experiences through teaching the traditional Shaolin art of Hung Fut Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and fighting classes for both self-defense and competition. First established in 1979 in Wheaton, Maryland, along with another location in Fairfax, Virginia, we are now solely located in the heart of Kensington, Maryland. Our classes cater to people of all ages, offering an array of benefits, including health, fitness, self-defense, balance, and culture. We cater to a variety of goals and provide an intimate level of instruction that is native to our tradition. Our slogan, "For the Serious Student," reflects how committed we are to teaching our students, with the belief that through dedication to training and learning, they can achieve their individual goals. We primarily identify as a school, but more importantly as a home to many students, as we treat one another like family.
