TAIKA by Poonam Bhagat, established in 1991, covers the entire gamut of women's prêt-a porter from western to fusion to Indian silhouette.Poonam Bhagat , launched her label T A I K A in January 1991 . In these 22 years she has become one of the leading Fashion Designers in India and is also on the Board of Governors for The Fashion Design Council of India , a non-profit organization, which is the apex body of fashion design in India, represented by over 350 members. Founded on the premise of promoting, nurturing and representing the best of fashion design talent in the country; its prime objective is to propagate the Business of Fashion. TAIKA , which means "magic" in Finnish , is known for its use of natural and eco-friendly fabrics with a strong play of colors and masterful applications of embroideries and appliqués to create silhouettes that are edgy , contemporary yet classic . She designs only for women. TAIKA sells across the country from more than 20 designer boutiques including Kimaya , Samsaara , Aza , Ensemble , Melange , Elahe , Evoluzione , 85 Lansdowne , Elan , Kali , Prana , Zenon , Ogaan , Mogra , Amethyst ,and Ffolio among others . Our western ensembles have also found a market in New York (IBIZA) , Florida-West Palm Beach (OKRA), Anthropologie, Singapore, Rome ,London and Tokyo (TARA BLANCA ) .
