If you are a counsellor working in the private sector you probably need to find your own clients, and that can be tough going. My job is to help you with that.I built Talking Couch in order to help people who are going through emotional difficulties to find the right counsellor for them. Clients visit the web site and search for counsellors, like yourself, in our directory. They then make a booking for an online counselling session, we take the payment upfront and you receive it directly into your bank account. I think that online therapy is going to be a big development in the field of talking therapies. I ran a survey with help from BBC Radio Orkney, and found that 56% out of the 174 people who responded said they would prefer their counsellor to live in another town.So would all of those people prefer to use an online service? Well, I checked that out as well and found that a massive 82% said they would be more likely to use an online counselling service if they knew about one.I do not believe that online-therapy is a replacement for in-person therapy, but there is a clear demand for it.
