TAMU Rocket Engine Design Team Details
Who We Are The Texas A&M University Rocket Engine Design Team (TAMU-RED) is dedicated to the application of academic knowledge to the development and leadership in the field of liquid fuel bipropellant rocket engines. Students spend anywhere between 12 and 20 hours a week honing their skills in the setting of a classroom or lab, along with the homework that goes along with that. While very important to the development of the student, it does not afford students the opportunity to see the results of what they are learning. Our team creates an environment where the safety of the hypothetical is removed. The students are allowed to learn, develop, theorize, create, fail, and succeed in a world that strives towards a common goal: building a real, working liquid fuel engine. The student is solely responsible for any assigned tasks, but can use any resources to make their work successful, especially the support of other members of the team. Alumni and members of our team have gone on to be leaders in their field as they have taken on full-time positions and internships with industry leaders. Involvement in the team has proven to improve the student experience here at Texas A&M and continues to do so.
