Performing Arts - Manchester, England, United Kingdom
TANDEM THEATRE is a creative arts charity for communities across Greater Manchester. Enriching, developing and transforming lives through drama and other participatory art forms. We have extensive experience delivering high quality arts practice for those considered hard to reach groups. Our past projects have included working with adults experiencing mental health problems, long term unemployment and risks of homelessness as well as vulnerable women, young women and young people at risk of exclusion and offending. In all our work we aim to encourage and edify participants so they acquire the tools needed to reach their potential. We specifically aim to improve mental health and emotional wellbeing, increase knowledge and appreciation of the arts and gain employability skills and qualifications. We work in partnership with a variety of organisations that support adults and young people such as youth services, homeless centres, women centres, youth charities, community centres and alternative education providers. We also often partner with arts organisations, theatres, libraries, heritage sites, archives and community art cafes. Our projects take many forms depending on the needs and requirements of the various groups we work with. Whether it's putting on an event for the public by groups of young women from every borough of Greater Manchester at Manchester Central Library or creating a short film by Homeless adults in Salford we always ensure our projects are:In Tandem with participants In Tandem with communities In Tandem with Funders and Partners
