Tangent Technologies, Inc. provides superior imager design and characterization services. Our imagers are better because we spend the time to listen to and evaluate the needs of our customers. We recommend the best solution, whether a commercial off-the-shelf or a full custom design imager, to the customer. If a full custom imager is the correct choice, Tangent Technologies will provide that design using the latest in integrated circuit design and verification tools. We then oversee the fabrication of the image devices and provide full in-house characterization of the completed imagers with our state-of-the-art characterization facility.Our founder, Dr. Mark Wadsworth, has over 25 years of direct experience in the design and characterization of image sensors. He has designed hundreds of sensors in silicon and more exotic materials, including the first 1024 x 1024 pixel CCD used in a space application. This device, launched in 1991 as part of the ISAS/NASA Solar X-Ray Telescope on the Yohkoh Solar Observatory satellite, observed the atmosphere of the sun in the soft x-ray spectrum for over 10 years. One of his recent detector successes can be viewed in the images sent back from the NASA SPIRIT and OPPORTUNITY rovers presently exploring the surface of Mars.
