TAP-Chicago is an Illinois not-for-profit organization founded in 2008 to help strengthen and unite the Taiwanese American community in Chicagoland. We encourage increased civic engagement through our cultural awareness, professional development, community service, and leadership programs. From humble beginnings, TAP-Chicago has grown to 1900+ members since our inception 7 years ago! In fulfilling our mission, we collaborate with different cultural, professional, and social service organizations in the greater Chicagoland area.The mission of TAP-Chicago is to:* Network Taiwanese Americans in the Chicagoland area and build a strong community of people who support one another* Help our members develop personally and professionally and become leaders for the greater community* Increase knowledge of and appreciation for Taiwanese American and Asian American culture and strengthen our sense of identity* Give back to those in need through community service and philanthropy
