Tapa del Toro is a traditional Spanish tapas bar located in the heart of Copenhagen. The first Tapa del Toro opened in the food market Torvehallerne in 2011, where it was soon accompanied by Deli del Toro to keep up with the demand for Spanish delicacies. Behind Tapa del Toro and Deli del Toro, you find restaurateur Jan Jensen and head chef Sune Rothenberg Lind, who are also behind 21 Pinchos Tapasbar and 21 Pinchos Delishop in the food market Markthal in Rotterdam, and the newly opened Toro Istedgade - a modern Spanish eatery with a local touch at Vesterbro. Tapa del Toro offers a wide selection of both tasteful and colorful pinchos and cold and warm tapas. The menu - which changes on a daily basis with at least one new dish every day - features traditional Spanish dishes such as pescaditos, calamares, pluma, pulpo, gambas, albondigas, chorizo, jamon, papas and much more. All pinchos and tapas are homemade with ingrediens such as ham, sausages and cheese being imported directly from the local producers in Spain. The difference in quality is unmistakable according to the locals, who have quickly discovered the high standards and uncompromising approach to food, which Tapa del Toro and Deli del Toro stand for. In fact, Sune Rothenberg Lind is quite the iberian ham expert. Tapa del Toro also serves Spanish beer, wine and cava in casual and cosy surroundings having transformed a small corner of Torvehallerne into Spain. It is not possible to make reservations at Tapa del Toro, instead you are encouraged to come by and have a glas of wine while waiting for an available seat, which often happens within a couple of minutes. Jan Jensen and Sune Rothenberg Lind have worked together for over a decade. It all began when Sune Rothenberg Lind started as chef at El Tapeo, a Spanish restaurant, which Jan Jensen opened in 2004. Today they are partners and looking to continue their Spanish adventure.
