Taqarib is a USAID funded, four year long project that works with 30 Libyan municipalities to help local government improve public services one Mahalla at a time. We work very closely with local government leadership to select 5 areas for technical support, and deliver small grants where they can have the greatest service delivery impact. Taqarib is also dedicated to enabling local communities to directly engage their municipalities in resource allocation, and service delivery improvement through several grant opportunities. The project links enhancements to service delivery at the municipal level with national efforts to improve the execution of decentralization policy, and with efforts to undertake evidence-based reform.
