Can a minimalist perspective combine with sophisticated ornamentation? Our designs resolve the paradox: inspired by the intricacy and beauty of oriental calligraphy, they reflect the simplicity of modern minimalism and the grace of oriental Arabic art. Tarek Wagih's designs are a product of years of deliberation on modern minimalist architecture and its connection with Arabic ornamental art. Even though minimalism was a movement born to reject the social and cultural constraints of Baroque and Renaissance, it should not lose sight of the fact that it still needs to be inspired and guided by its own culture. In our designs, the elaborate Arabic calligraphic ornamentation is perfectly contrasted with the fresh crudeness of material texture, thus releasing minimalism from its original trap and injecting it with a cultural element
