Government Relations - Steinfurt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany
The INTERREG-funded research project aims to implement concrete solutions at local level and to develop and support projects that are currently in the planning or preliminary stages of development. On the basis of the current cooperation, a cross-border, project-based and non-institutionalised "Heat Agency" is being realised with the "Task Force Heat Transition", which will further accelerate the topic in the German-Dutch border region (EUREGIO).It works on the basis of specially developed application and planning tools for the calculation of sustainable heating concepts at neighbourhood level and tests and establishes the use of the most modern forms of communication of augmented and virtual reality to communicate the chances of a "Heat Transition 3D".To promote the development of a modern energy infrastructure, circular, i.e. 100% sustainable energy systems adapted to local conditions are designed and presented on the basis of the identified conditions in the cities and municipalities of the EUREGIO. These systems serve as a benchmark and technology check, which municipalities and companies can use as a basis for orientation. In addition, the extremely successful programme of "heat vouchers" from WiEfm will be continued, with which heat network initiatives can apply for financial support to prepare feasibility studies. In this way, the political will and regional strategies are embodied and developed ready for implementation.
