Taylor's Racing Team (TRT) is a Multi-Disciplinary team geared up with excellent innovative and creative fresh young minds which started as a small team of 7 1st Year Engineering students. In the first 3 months, our team has designed and manufactured a car for Formula Varsity (FV) 2010 sweeping 2 awards out of 3.This will not be the endpoint but the start of our journey. We are currently designing our new car which we want to compete in the Formula SAE Australasia 2011 and make a mark on the world's stage.Formulae SAE is an international student design competition organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). We design and build our car based on the CDIO methodology. CDIO stands for CONCEIVE DESIGN IMPLEMENT OPERATE.Computer Aided Design (CAD) is used to design our car and also test the design's functionality. With this CAD drawing, the model of the car is tested extensively in computer software and then further improved. When the design has been completed in CAD, a prototype is then created for Wind Tunnel testing and Water Channel testing to see the flow visualization of the car in order to improve the aerodynamics of the car further.When the design finalised, the manufacturing process starts which is the implementation stage of the CDIO. This is the stage where we build our car. We have the facilities in Taylor's that has the equipment necessary for manufacturing the car properly and efficiently.The Operate stage of CDIO is when we test and race the car in Australia. With this, we are hoping to make a dent in the world through FSAE.Success is our mission. The talent that shines, the flaming passion and excellent design are what we ought to present.
